Iran attacked Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan.

On the evening of Tuesday, July 14, Iran launched missile and drone strikes against Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan. Tehran stated that these attacks were in response to U.S. strikes on Iranian targets.

According to The Guardian, Kuwaiti authorities confirmed the attack. The country’s armed forces stated that air defense systems intercepted one ballistic missile and five cruise missiles, as well as 33 drones, which, according to the military, were aimed at a number of key facilities and civilian infrastructure. One of the Kuwaiti Navy’s ships was also struck—four service members were injured.

Bahrain reported new attacks by Iran, writes ABC News.

Jordan also stated that its military intercepted four missiles that entered the country’s airspace.

According to Al Jazeera, citing the Iranian news agency IRIB, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that the attacks destroyed weapons hangars in Bahrain and launch sites for U.S. drones in Kuwait, and that several drones were destroyed or damaged.

“Retaliation and punishment of the aggressor will continue as long as the United States’ crimes continue. If these attacks are repeated, they will be followed by new and unexpected responses,” the Corps said in a statement.

Iran also warned that further escalation could affect oil and gas exports through the Strait of Hormuz.

“As long as the United States continues its hostile actions in the region, not a single drop of oil or gas will be exported from there, and these acts of aggression will only lead to further delays in the opening of the Strait of Hormuz,” the IRGC stated.

In response to the Iranian attacks, the U.S. struck Kish Island in the Persian Gulf. According to CNN, the strike damaged a power plant on the island.
