Has Lukashenko Turned The Repeaters Back On?

The Russians could have used them today to attack a gas station near Zhytomyr.
It cannot be ruled out that the relay stations in Belarus—in which the Russians have a strong interest for guiding “Shahed” drones—are occasionally used to launch attacks on Ukraine. This assumption was put forward by Sergey (Flash) Beskrestnov on his Telegram channel.
According to him, at 7:11 a.m. today, a guided “Shahed” drone attacked a gas station in Malyn in the Zhytomyr region. As the expert notes, according to data from Ukrainian radar stations, the drone flew along the border with Belarus and reached Korosten directly over the highway. It then turned around and flew directly over the railroad tracks toward Malyn, where it attacked the gas station.
“This behavior is characteristic of manual UAV control via a camera. The distance from the point of attack to the Russian border is 260 kilometers. That is too far for a direct radio link to work. There were no other ‘Shaheds’ (possible relay drones) in the air at that time. Final conclusions will be drawn by the relevant agencies and units after a detailed analysis of the situation,” Flash noted.
He adds that it is very important and crucial for the enemy to attack the western part of Ukraine with “Shaheds” using online control, but without relay stations on Belarusian territory, they cannot do so.
As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, June 19, demanded that the Lukashenko regime remove, within a week, the drone relay stations located in Belarus’s border regions that Russia uses to coordinate attacks on Ukrainian territory.
“Can he take them down? I think a week will be enough for him to do so. If he doesn’t, we will,” he said.
On June 24, Zelenskyy stated that the relay stations had ceased operations. According to him, it is not yet known whether these systems have been dismantled.
On June 29, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that the repeaters on Belarusian territory have not yet been removed. According to him, one of them was temporarily activated on June 29.
