Former Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó has decided to resign from his seat in parliament. He announced that he has accepted an offer to take a senior position at the Chinese automaker BYD. Szijjártó wrote about this on Facebook.
“I have submitted my resignation as a member of parliament. The reason for this is that I have received an extremely honorable offer from one of the world’s leading companies to take on an international position. BYD is one of the automotive industry’s greatest success stories of the past twenty years, as well as a global leader in the production of new energy vehicles,” he wrote.
He clarified that he will take on the role at BYD of “head of the group’s external relations and new business development.”
