President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has submitted the nomination of Serhiy Koretskyi to the Verkhovna Rada for the position of Prime Minister of Ukraine.
This was reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
“Parliament will consider his nomination in the near future in accordance with established procedure,” said Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk.
Earlier, the head of the “Servant of the People” faction, David Arakhamia, as reported by New Voice, reported that Serhiy Koretskyi took part in the session. He outlined his vision for the work of the Cabinet of Ministers and the structure of the government.
According to him, Koretsky has significant experience in the corporate and public sectors and has proven himself at “Ukrnafta” and “Naftogaz.”
“During the past heating season, gas was, in fact, the only energy resource that was consistently supplied to consumers, despite attacks on production and storage facilities. We consider this experience extremely valuable, especially now that Ukraine is preparing for what is likely to be the harshest winter in our history,” Arakhamia wrote.
He added that among the government’s priorities, Koretsky cited supporting the people, preparing for the heating season, strengthening the Defense Forces, and protecting infrastructure.
On July 12, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that there would be changes in the government, and offered Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko a different position. Sviridenko confirmed that she would step down as head of the government.
