The economic situation in Russia is rapidly deteriorating.
A collapse is looming, which will trigger social and military collapses, according to Russian “angry patriot” Z-blogger Maksim Kalashnikov. He made the statement on his Telegram channel on July 16, according to “Dialog”.
Kalashnikov pointed out that, according to forecasts, the hole in Russia’s state budget will reach record levels by the end of the year, and there is nothing to “patch” it with. Under such conditions, mobilization carries the risk of a complete economic collapse.
“I’m afraid there are no good solutions here. They’re unlikely to sell off the gold reserves, and the liquid portion of the National Welfare Fund has been exhausted. China isn’t providing a government loan. The West has taken away our foreign exchange reserves. Print rubles to cover the deficit? That would trigger hyperinflation and a mass run on bank accounts. This could cause a banking crisis, with enormous costs to combat it. I won’t even mention the devaluation of companies’ working capital, which threatens to cause a drop in production across all sectors, including the military-industrial complex,” Kalashnikov said.
In his opinion, the only option for the Kremlin is to seize the public’s bank deposits. But even this step would likely lead to social unrest.
“I think a severe military, economic, and political crisis is brewing,” the Z-blogger said.
In his view, the current situation in Russia resembles the final years of the Soviet Union, only everything is “much worse and more dangerous.” The cause of these troubles is the war against Ukraine, in which Russia has become bogged down.
“The shift of the war into a protracted, war-of-attrition format has led to the Russian Federation’s economic collapse. Unlike Kyiv, we do not have massive financial and military-technical support from abroad. And the ‘little hen pecking at a grain’ has ground down not Ukraine and the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but first and foremost us,” Kalashnikov stated.
He predicts severe upheavals in Russia in the very near future.
