Trump Made An Important Statement After Meeting With Zelenskyy

The White House chief said he had managed to discuss many issues with the Ukrainian leader.

U.S. President Donald Trump commented on his meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy, which took place in Washington on July 28. According to him, the meeting went “very well.”

This was reported by Charter97.org, citing Trump’s post on Truth Social.

“It is a great honor for me to meet with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. We discussed many issues. The meeting went very well,” wrote the White House chief.

Trump also posted a couple of photos from the meeting on social media, in which both leaders are posing for the media at the White House.

As is well known, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is currently on a visit to the United States. Among the president’s main objectives is to negotiate a joint production agreement with the Americans for interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense system; Zelenskyy also discussed putting pressure on Moscow and ways to achieve peace in Ukraine.

An important issue that was also raised during the meeting with Trump was the anti-Russian sanctions, which were authored, in particular, by Senator Lindsey Graham, who was laid to rest today.

The bill imposing restrictions on Russia was called “hellish” sanctions for a reason—it imposes massive tariffs on countries that purchase energy resources from Russia. This includes oil, gas, and their derivatives.

The sanctions are also directed against Russia’s “shadow fleet,” financial institutions—including the Central Bank of Russia—specific individuals, major Russian industrial facilities, and more.

It is worth noting that while in the U.S., Zelenskyy attended a memorial service for Lindsey Graham—a senator who, together with his colleague Richard Blumenthal and other members of the American political establishment, actively worked on the sanctions.
