The new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine already has a specific plan of action.
Ukraine’s victory in the war against Russia requires a clear course of action, specifically, the intensification of operations across various domains and the use of asymmetric approaches.
This statement was made by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On July 29, Drapaty held his first telephone conversation with the Supreme Commander of NATO’s Allied Forces in Europe and Commander of U.S. Forces in Europe, General Alexus Grinkevich.
During the conversation, the Ukrainian commander-in-chief shared with his counterpart his vision for Ukraine’s victory in the war against Russia.
According to Drapatiy, at this stage it is extremely important to:
intensify operations across various domains;
prevent enemy infiltration into Ukrainian defense lines;
scale up long- and medium-range firepower against the enemy;
further develop army corps and increase their autonomy.
“We are working to increase the casualty rate among enemy forces and reduce Moscow’s economic capabilities. To this end, we are employing asymmetric approaches and Ukrainian technologies,” Drapaty emphasized.
In addition, he thanked General Grinkevich for his personal efforts to provide Ukraine with additional air defense systems.
The commander-in-chief also mentioned the significant contribution made by U.S. President Donald Trump and Pentagon Chief Pete Hegset to strengthening the Ukrainian Armed Forces. First and foremost, this refers to military aid to Ukraine under the Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL).
