Ukraine's New Defense Minister Reveals His Personal Motivation For Ending The War

Ukraine’s interim acting Minister of Defense Yevhen Khmara is determined to end the war with Russia as soon as possible so that his sons will not have to fight in the future.

Khmara spoke about this in interview with American journalist Laura Lumer.

Khmara said that he had already lost a brother in the war.

The minister also has two growing sons, ages 11 and 9.

The defense minister noted that his personal goal is to end hostilities before his children reach draft age, so that instead of going to war, they can help rebuild their country.

As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and appointed Yevhen Khmara, the former acting head of the SBU, to replace him.
