In Volgograd, Russia, Drones Attacked The Wildberries Logistics Hub And An Oil Refinery

On the night of July 31, drones attacked the Russian city of Volgograd. A series of explosions rocked the city, followed by a massive fire and billowing black smoke.

According to preliminary reports, the drones may have struck yet another Wildberries warehouse, as well as a local oil refinery owned by Lukoil. This was reported by OSINT channels.

As for Wildberries in Volgograd, preliminary reports indicate that drones attacked the company’s distribution center—a logistics complex covering 44,000 square meters. Analysts note that this facility is a key logistics hub for the Volgograd, Astrakhan, and neighboring regions of the Russian Federation.

In addition, a strike was recorded at the local “Lukoil-Volgograd Oil Refinery.” This is one of Russia’s largest oil refineries. The facility produces gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, and other petroleum products that are vital to the country’s economy and to supplying fuel to the civilian and government sectors.

The Volgograd oil refinery is also considered the largest producer of fuels and lubricants in the Southern Federal District of the Russian Federation. The plant processes more than 15 million metric tons of crude oil annually, accounting for 5.6% of Russia’s total refining volume.

At the time of publication, there had been no official confirmation that the facilities had been hit.
