The governor of the Leningrad Region, Alexander Drozdenco, stated that air defense forces repelled a massive drone attack throughout the night. According to him, a total of 56 drones were allegedly shot down over the region.

The regional governor claims that drone debris fell in several areas of the region.

“Fragments of UAVs were reported to have fallen in the area of the Luzhsky training ground. Fragments of UAVs were also reported to have fallen in the area of the ports of Ust-Luga and Vysotsk. Emergency services are on the scene. Details are being verified,” — Drozdzenko said.

According to preliminary data from Russian authorities, there were no casualties as a result of the attack. Emergency response teams continue to work on the ground to address the aftermath of the strikes.

The Port of Ust-Luga, located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland, is considered one of Russia’s largest seaports. It handles shipments of oil, petroleum products, coal, fertilizers, liquefied natural gas, and other cargo. Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, its importance to the Russian economy and logistics has increased significantly, as the port has become one of the key routes for energy exports.
