In two months—a loss of one billion.
According to the National Bank of Belarus, the country’s gold and foreign exchange reserves decreased by $881.8 million in June.
As of July 1, 2026, they stood at $14.156 billion, BelTA reported.
The main reason for the decline was a drop in gold prices on international markets.
The volume of monetary gold decreased by $896.9 million during the period under review, amounting to $6.9823 billion.
The amount of Special Drawing Rights also decreased (by $9.4 million) to $1,399.8 million.
However, foreign currency reserve assets increased by 24.5 million, reaching $5,773.6 million.
It should be noted that Belarus’s international reserves have been falling for the second consecutive month. In May, they decreased by $228.6 million.
