On the night of Monday, July 6, Ukrainian defense forces launched a strike against the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Yaroslavl and the Novatek-Ust-Luga oil refinery in the Leningrad Oblast of the Russian Federation, reports the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
As a result of the attack on the Yaroslavl oil refinery, explosions and smoke were observed. The Slavneft-YANOS plant is one of the largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation, with a capacity of 15 million metric tons of crude oil per year. It produces automotive gasoline, diesel and jet fuel, lubricants, and other products used, in particular, by the Russian military.
The Defense Forces also struck the “Novatek-Ust-Luga” plant in the village of Slobodka and the permanent deployment site of the Russian Federation’s 26th Missile Brigade near the village of Luga in the Leningrad Region of the Russian Federation.
The TES-Terminal-1 light petroleum products transshipment terminal in the temporarily occupied city of Kerch was damaged. According to the General Staff, this is one of the largest complexes for the storage and transshipment of light petroleum products in Crimea.
Near Dolzhansk in the Luhansk region, a railway overpass used by the occupiers to transport personnel, weapons, ammunition, and logistical supplies was struck.
The Security Service of Ukraine, in turn, confirms the strike on the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery and reports an attack on the oil loading terminal at the Vysotsk seaport in the Leningrad region, which resulted in two oil loading arms being put out of commission and three tanks containing petroleum products being damaged.
Drones also struck the “First Plant” oil refinery in the Kaluga region, where a fire broke out, according to the SBU.
