  • 6.07.2026, 14:47

Explosions rang out.

Drones attacked Russia’s largest oil refinery, located in Omsk, 2,500 km from the Ukrainian border, which is one of two oil refineries that had not yet been attacked. This was reported by New Voice.

Exilenova+ published a photo of an FP-1 drone with an atypical wing geometry, which is likely flying to attack the Omsk Oil Refinery. The oil refinery is owned by Gazpromneft and has a capacity of about 22 million metric tons per year.

The region’s governor Vitaly Khotsenko reported the first drones “shot down” in the region. Flight restrictions were imposed at Omsk Airport for the first time. Meanwhile, Exilenova+ reports that at least two strikes were carried out on the refinery.

Of Russia’s ten largest oil refineries, only two remained undamaged—the Omsk Oil Refinery and the Angarsk Petrochemical Company in the Irkutsk Region.

On July 1, attack drones were spotted over Omsk; they had traveled more than 2,500 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. The drones were presumably heading toward the Omsk Oil Refinery. Prior to this, a threat of drones had been announced in the Omsk Region for the second time.

The Omsk Oil Refinery is considered Russia’s largest oil refinery in terms of installed oil refining capacity.

Its key indicators are as follows:

refining capacity—approximately 22 million metric tons of crude oil per year;

owned by Gazprom Neft;

one of the largest refineries in Europe;

It produces gasoline, diesel fuel, jet fuel, bitumen, and other products.
