Zelenskyy: The Battle In The Skies Will Determine The Outcome Of The War With Russia

The President of Ukraine announced drone strikes on Moscow involving a thousand drones and Putin's retreat beyond the Urals.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the decisive phase of Russia’s war against Ukraine has shifted from land and sea to the air, asserting that it is the “battle in the skies” that will determine the outcome of the conflict.
In an interview with Financial Times on Monday, the Ukrainian president stated that his country had already managed to deny Russia victory on the battlefield and drive its fleet out of most of the western Black Sea, leaving the airspace as the decisive theater of operations.
“In this conflict, whose territory is larger is of far less importance. We’ve moved into the airspace. And in the air, we’re already competitive. <…> When the front line is largely static and the enemy cannot operate freely at sea, only the air remains,” he noted.
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s ability to produce and deploy long-range drones has changed the course of the conflict, allowing Kyiv to strike military and energy facilities in increasingly remote areas of Russia, thereby weakening Moscow’s war machine.
However, according to Zelenskyy, Ukraine has a critical vulnerability that could still determine the outcome of the war: “There is only one unknown remaining. Unfortunately, it is defense against ballistic missiles. This is [Ukraine’s] main weakness in this equation.”
