19 vessels in three days.
On the night of Wednesday, July 8, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ unmanned systems unit attacked nine tankers belonging to Russia’s shadow fleet in the Sea of Azov, according to SBS Commander Robert (“Madyar”) Brovdi.
Over the past three days, Ukrainian drones have struck 19 Russian tankers, one dry cargo ship, and one ferry in the temporarily occupied city of Kerch.
“Madyar” also reported that on the night of July 8, the SBS struck 53 military targets in annexed Crimea. Among them were six power plants and other facilities. Between July 1 and July 8, Ukrainian drones damaged 50 Russian energy facilities in Crimea.
The strikes were carried out in coordination with the Unmanned Systems Forces’ Deep Strike Center, “Madyar” added.
As reported by the website Charter97.org, experts compared the strikes on Russian tankers to Tsushima—the defeat of the Russian Empire’s 2nd Pacific Squadron by the Japanese fleet.
