Russian authorities have confirmed the fires.
On the night of Thursday, July 9, following drone attacks in Tver and the Stavropol Krai of the Russian Federation, fires broke out at oil depots, and Russian authorities confirmed fires “at industrial facilities.”
This was reported by the Telegram channel Astra.
According to the results of Astra’s OSINT analysis of eyewitness videos, one of the fires occurred at the Tvernefteprodukt oil depot.
This refers to the main oil depot of Tvernefteprodukt, a company that is part of an enterprise affiliated with Surgutneftegaz. The facility handles the receipt, storage, and shipment of gasoline and diesel fuel, and also supplies fuel to a network of gas stations and wholesale customers in the Tver Region, as noted on the Telegram channel.
Residents of the Stavropol Krai also reported explosions. After analyzing eyewitness accounts, Astra concluded that the drones attacked the oil depot in Mikhailovsk, where a fire broke out.
According to a Telegram channel, this facility belongs to Lukoil-Yugnefteprodukt—a subsidiary of Lukoil that stores, transships, and sells petroleum products through a network of oil depots and gas stations in southern and central Russia.
Vladimirov, the governor of the Stavropol Krai, also confirmed a drone attack on the region. He reported that debris had fallen in the Stavropol area and that a fire had broken out “on the grounds of an industrial facility” in the village of Vyazniki in the Shpakovsky District.
On the night of July 8, units of the Special Operations Forces’ Deep Strike group struck two Russian oil refineries in Nizhnekamsk (Republic of Tatarstan).
