The regime is facing a massive labor shortage.
Lukashenko stated his readiness to attract migrant workers from Uzbekistan to Belarus. This issue was discussed during the Uzbek delegation’s official meeting with Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who had arrived in Minsk.
“Well, people reacted positively. I’m telling you, we love Uzbeks here. Even more than Pakistanis… I want your people to come here with their families. In agriculture, as I told the president, we provide housing,” Lukashenko responded.
“They’re incredibly hardworking. We need to learn from you,” said the dictator.
Earlier, the head of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee Yuri Karaev stated that the region is ready to accept “a small number of hardworking, non-drinking” migrant workers from Uzbekistan to work in agriculture
