Zelenskyy: If Yeltsin Had Known That Russia Would Import Fuel, He Would Have Chosen A Different Successor Instead Of Putin

The President of Ukraine trolled the Russian dictator.

The first president of the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin would have chosen a different successor rather than Vladimir Putin, if he had known that, because of the war against Ukraine that was unleashed, Russia would be forced more than 20 years later to import fuel—instead of exporting it, reports New Voice.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement on July 9 during a conversation with journalists.

“To tell the truth, I think that if Yeltsin had known that more than 20 years later, Russia would be importing energy resources instead of exporting them—because it had decided to start a war—he would have chosen a different successor,” he said.

President Zelenskyy explained, in particular, that Russia’s economy “has always been geared toward exporting its energy resources,” but today the aggressor country “is scrambling to find fuel somewhere and somehow increase its capacity to purchase and import fuel.”
