Drones Struck One Of Russia's Main Oil Refining Centers

The Nizhnekamsk Oil Refinery in Tatarstan has been attacked.

On the morning of August 10, explosions were heard in the Russian region of Tatarstan. Local residents reported drone attacks, particularly in Nizhnekamsk, while social media groups posted about an attack on an oil refinery.

This was reported by Charter97.org citing OSINT sources.

According to preliminary reports, city residents heard explosions and reported seeing drones flying overhead. Footage soon began appearing on social media.

Nizhnekamsk is one of Russia’s major oil refining centers. Two major oil refineries are located there—TANECO and TAIF-NK. These facilities specialize in refining crude oil and natural gas condensate.

These facilities have been targeted by drone attacks on multiple occasions and are among the key facilities of the Russian Federation’s fuel and energy infrastructure.

Previously, industrial facilities in Nizhnekamsk have also been targeted by drone attacks.

In particular, on the morning of July 31, local residents reported more than 30 explosions in Nizhnekamsk. Afterward, a large flare could be seen burning on the grounds of one of the oil refineries.

Drone attacks on Russian oil refineries are becoming systematic—in the first few days of August alone, two major facilities were shut down.

As a reminder, on the night of August 8, Ukrainian drones struck the Ilsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai and the Syzran Oil Refinery in the Samara Region.
