NFL star Travis Kelce has spoken in detail for the first time about his wedding to Taylor Swift, calling the celebration one of the most memorable events of his life, according to Variety.

“The wedding was the best night of my life. I’m grateful to everyone who came to celebrate this day with us,” — Kelce said.

Swift and Kelce were married on July 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The ceremony was officiated by actor Adam Sandler. About a thousand guests attended the wedding, including Selena Gomez, Julia Roberts, Ed Sheeran, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg, Bradley Cooper, and Gigi Hadid. Paul McCartney, Stevie Nicks, and Tim McGraw performed at the celebration.

The choice of venue held special significance for Kelsey. The athlete shared that he had dreamed since childhood of going to Madison Square Garden for a New York Knicks game, and ended up there for the first time as a groom.

“It was awesome to fulfill a childhood dream and be in that arena—the mecca of all sports venues. And it was even cooler to get married there,” Kelsey admitted.

The couple went to great lengths to keep the ceremony a secret. The invitations featured custom watermarks, and guests signed non-disclosure agreements.

According to Kelsey, despite the huge public interest, they managed to have a “perfect” and deeply personal celebration.
