Wreckage Of A Drone Was Discovered Off The Coast Of Romania

In Romania, near the village of Costinești, the wreckage of an unidentified drone has been discovered, according to Romania Journal. A piece of the drone was spotted in the water.

A tourist on the beach was the first to spot the suspicious object around 8:30 a.m. According to eyewitnesses, it was about one meter in size, and several antennas were visible above the water.

Law enforcement was called to the scene. The area near the pier was evacuated, and tourists were moved away from the site as the object continued to drift in the water.

As expected, investigators had to determine whether the debris belonged to an aerial or maritime drone.

Eyewitnesses reported that the object disappeared from view after a few minutes; it may have sunk.

As a reminder, on August 13, air raid alerts were issued twice in Romania due to Russian strikes on the Odesa region. Near the border with Ukraine, radars detected an aerial target, after which two F-16 fighter jets took to the skies.
