The enemy was frightened by the UAV attack.
On the night of August 15, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked the Russian "Savasleika" airbase in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The base is home to MiG-31K fighter jets, which are equipped with “Kinzhal” aeroballistic missiles. This was reported by the monitoring channel Exilenova+.
Residents in local chat rooms reported loud explosions near the airfield.
In addition, it was reported that plumes of smoke and fire were visible in the area where the MiG-31Ks are stationed.
At the same time, the Strategic Control channel notes that the Russians scrambled four MiG-31K aircraft after the attack began. The aircraft flew toward Tatarstan to evade the drone attack.
Observers noted that the following aircraft were in Russian airspace during the night:
2 A-50U aircraft from the “Orenburg-2” and “Perm” airfields;
4 MiG-31Ks from the “Savasleika” airfield, heading toward the “Begishevo” airfield.
“The enemy was frightened by the UAV attack and is moving its aircraft out of striking range,” the report states.
