Warsaw Hosted The Largest Military Parade In Polish History

Hundreds of pieces of military equipment rolled through the city streets, and F-35s and F-16s took to the skies.

A military parade took place on Vistostrada in Warsaw—the main event of the annual celebrations marking Polish Armed Forces Day and the 106th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, according to Polskie Radio. This year, they are being held under the slogan “Polska SAFE” — “Safe Poland.”

Aircraft and helicopters of various types were the first to fly over the Polish capital. The modern Polish F-35 Husarz fighter jets, as well as the Jastrzębie—Polish F-16s—drew particular attention.

The parade was observed, among others, by President Karol Nawrocki, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, as well as the Minister of National Defense and Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

For the second time, the Warsaw parade took place simultaneously with a naval parade. About twenty ships and other vessels from the Polish Navy and allied nations marched in a special formation. A naval aviation flyover also took place. The naval parade in Gdynia was opened by Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

As part of the parade, military personnel and military equipment marched along Vistostrada from north to south. Several thousand service members from all branches of the Polish Armed Forces, as well as allied armies, took part in the land, air, and naval demonstrations.

Nearly two thousand service members and about 300 pieces of equipment took part in the parade on Vistula Avenue, including Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles, Rosomak armored personnel carriers, Leopard, K2, and Abrams tanks, Krab self-propelled howitzers, Rak mortar systems, Gladius drones, and Poprad, HIMARS, and Patriot systems.
