"Trust Has Collapsed": Z-Blogger Reports Mass Exodus Of Crimeans From The Peninsula

Disappointment with the occupying “authorities” has reached its limit.

Russian Z-blogger Alexander Gornoy, who moved to occupied Crimea in 2014, spoke candidly about the situation on the peninsula. He noted a collapse in pro-Russian sentiment among local residents. Gorny published the post on Facebook on August 15, according to “Dialog.UA”.

According to him, trust in both Moscow and Moscow’s proxies has collapsed in Crimea. People have realized that Russia has abandoned them to their fate.

“There is no unity among Crimeans; it’s every man for himself. The profiteers are doing quite well—they’re selling fuel and generators along the highways and jacking up food prices. So all the slogans about the universal unity of Crimeans are lies—a piece of propaganda with no basis in reality. Among my many acquaintances and followers, trust in Aksyonov has been completely undermined; it has collapsed, just like trust in the federal government. I hear this in practically every conversation, which wasn’t the case even a month ago,” the Z-blogger reported.

According to him, on the peninsula the banking and food crisis is gaining momentum, with goods selling for much higher prices than in the Russian Federation. Russians are fleeing Crimea en masse or preparing to do so.

“Online marketplaces have simply crashed and aren’t recovering, especially in Crimea. People on the peninsula have been left without jobs or income, while microfinance organizations are ‘rolling in it.’ The fuel crisis is escalating again; prices have risen, serious shortages have begun, and people have nothing to run even a generator on. Where are people supposed to store their medications if the refrigerators aren’t working? There’s no prospect of the situation improving—many people are already realizing this. Some of my Crimean acquaintances have started preparing to move,” writes Gornoy.
