Russia rules out the possibility of a “freeze” in the war along the line of contact.
The Kremlin states that Russia rules out the possibility of a “freeze” in the war against Ukraine along the line of contact.
This was stated by an aide to the Russian dictator Yuri Ushakov, as quoted by the Russian news agency “Interfax.”
Russia is not interested in ceasing hostilities along the current line of contact.
“You know our position; it rules that out,” Ushakov said, responding to a question about foreign countries’ proposal to freeze the Russian-Ukrainian war along the line of contact.
Putin’s administration also responded to questions about whether Russia and the U.S. are indeed engaging in “quiet diplomacy,” as reported in the American media.
“Diplomacy, as a rule, is always conducted quietly. If something is being discussed loudly, then that’s no longer diplomacy—it’s apparently public statements,” Ushakov said.
