The Kremlin's plans for Donbas may once again fall through.
The Kremlin’s plans for a swift takeover of the unoccupied part of Donbas may once again fail: the Ukrainian Defense Forces are prepared for a protracted defense and are taking the necessary measures.
In total, Ukraine has built about 300 kilometers of new defensive fortifications in the area between Izyum and Orekhov.
According to assessment by OSINT analyst Clément Molen, it could take Russian troops years to breach this line.
The defensive line includes anti-tank trenches, concrete pyramids, and several rows of barriers. In some places, it is up to 100 meters wide. The positions of Ukrainian infantry and drone operators are located deeper within the forests and forest strips.
According to the analyst, such a system is not capable of completely halting an offensive, but it significantly slows the advance of Russian troops. It is telling that in one section, even an unfinished line of defense was able to hold off the offensive for about nine months.
