Poland Is Ready To Close Its Border With Belarus

The country's defense minister made this statement.

Warsaw is prepared to close border crossings with Belarus and Russia if necessary. This was stated the country’s Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, speaking about the “Eastern Shield” system.

“We have warehouses and fortifications. We are ready, for example, to block all border crossings on the eastern border—the border with Belarus and Russia—if necessary. We already have the necessary equipment prepared for this,” said Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamysh.

According to the minister, the “Eastern Shield” project has already “outgrown national boundaries”: military personnel from Germany are participating in its implementation, and engineering units from the U.S., the U.K., and France will soon join.

It should be noted that Poland closed its border with Belarus for the duration of the exercises “Zapad”.
