Harley-Davidson is launching sales of its first electric scooter, the S4 Honcho. The entry-level version of this affordable model for young people does not have a headlight, and its range is 85 km.

The S4 Honcho is being released under the LiveWire brand, just like all Harley-Davidson electric motorcycles. It is hitting the market in the U.S. and will cost just $4,999. This was reported by the website Ride Apart.

The first version to go on sale is the minimalist Trail model, featuring off-road tires and long-travel suspension. It has no headlights or gauges: LED lighting and a digital instrument panel will be added later to the urban “Street” model, priced at $5,499.

The LiveWire S4 Honcho Trail electric motorcycle can reach a top speed of 95 km/h and accelerate to 50 km/h in 3 seconds. Two removable batteries with a combined capacity of 3.48 kWh provide a range of 85 km. Charging to 80% at home takes 2 hours.

It is worth noting that this is not Harley-Davidson’s cheapest product, as the brand’s lineup includes gasoline-powered models priced at $3,000.
