A Drone Was Spotted Again Over Zhlobin

Shortly thereafter, a fighter jet flew over the city.

On the evening of August 25, residents of Zhlobin heard a loud, unusual sound and speculated that a jet drone was flying over the city. Reports of this "Flagstok" on social media.

Users reported hearing what they believed to be the hum of a drone around 5:00 p.m. on the outskirts of Zhlobin in the Lebedevka area, in Microdistrict 16, in the village of Rabochy, and in the Zapadny Microdistrict.

The UAV was not visible due to low clouds, city residents noted. Some of them also reported seeing a fighter jet flying low that same evening—in the area of the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant and Yuzhnaya Street:

“A fighter jet flew low over the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant, right above the factory roofs.”

One user wrote that at roughly the same time, a fighter jet was circling over Svetlogorsk.

Also, around 5:00 p.m., Ukrainian monitoring channels reported military aircraft activity in eastern Belarus. Specifically, the “PPO Radar” channel reported at 4:51 p.m. that three Su-30s had taken to the air.

That same day, starting early in the morning, groups of Russian jet-powered UAVs were detected over Ukraine’s Chernihiv Oblast. Around 2:40 p.m., six groups were moving along the now-familiar trajectory along the Belarusian-Ukrainian border from east to west.

As a reminder, on August 18, near the Belarusian Metallurgical Plant in Zhlobin, an unidentified drone an unidentified drone crashed. Local residents reported hearing an explosion that sounded like thunder.
