Zelenskyy announced the reinforcement of one of the key sectors of the front.

Ukraine’s positions in the Donetsk region will be strengthened thanks to two reinforced units, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He also added that “together with Mykhailo Drapaty, the General Staff, and Defense Minister Khmara, we have determined the sequence of our next steps.”

“First: our positions in the Donetsk region will be strengthened thanks to two reinforced units. The commanders will be Hero of Ukraine Denis Prokopenko and Hero of Ukraine Andriy Biletskyi. Today I awarded Andriy the Golden Star of the Hero,” the head of state said in a video address on Telegram.

In addition, he noted, a briefing was held by the commander of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleg Apostol. Zelenskyy thanked him for the “significant strength” of the Airborne Assault Forces.

“The second important event of the day: we spoke with commanders here on the Zaporizhzhia front. There will be more necessary resources. This applies to non-lethal military equipment—we need decisions to increase production and procurement,” the president emphasized.

He added that decisions will also be made regarding a more systematic approach to medium-range strikes. “We have agreed with the minister and the Commander-in-Chief on the necessary personnel decisions. This is important,” Zelenskyy added.
