There have been quite a few different theories circulating about Ratcliffe's stay in the Russian capital.

The unexpected visit to Moscow by CIA Director John Ratcliffe sparked a wave of speculation about its purpose, but the U.S. has dismissed the most sensational theories surrounding the trip.

This was reported by Charter97.org, citing a statement by U.S. President Donald Trump in a telephone interview with journalist Glenn Beck.

Trump stated that the CIA director’s visit to Russia was of a semi-routine nature. According to him, the trip is not related to speculation about possible actions by the Kremlin against NATO countries.

“He’s there, you know, on a sort of semi-routine basis. I don’t want to disappoint people. We’d like the war with Ukraine to end. This war would never have started if I were president,” said the U.S. president.

Earlier, numerous different theories had circulated regarding Ratcliffe’s stay in Moscow. In particular, there was speculation that Russia might be testing NATO’s resolve. Among other possibilities, there were even suggestions of a potential strike against the United Kingdom.

Trump dismissed such scenarios and stated that they do not explain the CIA director’s trip.
