Belarusians Have Surpassed Germans In Terms Of Salary Levels In Germany

Belarusians working full-time in Germany earned a median gross monthly salary of 4,533 euros in 2025. This is 137 euros more than workers with German citizenship, according to data from the German Federal Employment Agency, as cited by Bild cites.

In terms of median salary, Belarusians were among the citizens of five countries who earned more in Germany than Germans themselves.

The highest figure was among workers from India—5,445 euros gross per month. Next were citizens of Taiwan—5,395 euros, China—5,065 euros, and Egypt—4,563 euros. The median salary for Belarusians was 4,533 euros, while that of Germans was 4,396 euros.

However, the overall situation among foreign workers in Germany looks different. The median salary for all foreign workers employed full-time was 3,358 euros—1,038 euros less than that of Germans. Back in 2024, this gap was smaller—973 euros.

About 70% of foreign workers earned less than the German median wage. Particularly low figures were recorded among people from countries from which many refugees have come to Germany in recent years. For example, the median wage for citizens of Ukraine was 2,825 euros, for Syria—2,822 euros, and for Afghanistan—2,817 euros.

The Federal Employment Agency and the German government note that income levels depend heavily on workers’ education, qualifications, and professional experience.
