A successful counterattack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Slavyansk.
On August 1 and 2, Russian occupiers attempted to carry out a series of attacks in the Slavyansk area, but were unable to succeed due to the actions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. This is reported by analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The analysts cite a Russian military blogger who reported a successful counterattack by Ukrainian defenders in the Rai-Oleksandrivka area, located east of Sloviansk. It is noted that this counterattack thwarted Russia’s plans for an offensive in this area.
At the same time, it is reported that Russia continues to bomb the area with aerial bombs, thereby preparing the battlefield for a future offensive on Slavyansk. Specifically, on the morning of August 2, Russian occupiers launched two FAB-250 strikes directly on Slavyansk.
In addition, Russia continues to attempt an offensive in the Konstantinovka area. However, according to analysts, the enemy’s attempts to advance in this area on August 1 and 2 were unsuccessful. At the same time, the Defense Forces are focusing their strikes in this area on Russian UAV command posts in the immediate rear, near Konstantinovka. It is noted that the goal of these attacks is to thwart Russian strikes against Ukrainian logistics.
Earlier, analysts at “DeepState” reported that Russian occupiers had captured more Ukrainian territory for the first time in several months, than the Ukrainian Defense Forces managed to recapture.
