Poland Intercepted A Russian Reconnaissance Aircraft Over The Baltic Sea

The Russian Il-20 was flying without a flight plan and with its transponder deactivated.

A pair of Polish fighter jets were scrambled to intercept a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea on August 3, the country’s defense minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said on social media platform X.

The Russian aircraft was intercepted 60 km northwest of the city of Leba on the Baltic Sea. “Our airspace was not violated. The aircraft was flying in international airspace without a flight plan and with its transponder deactivated,” Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote.
