Stefanyishyna herself stated that this was her decision, made due to personal circumstances.

On Monday, August 3, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Olga Stefanishyna from her post as Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States. The decree was published on the president’s website.

The decree is dated August 3.

Stefanishyna herself posted a photo of her resignation letter on Facebook, also dated August 3, and wrote that this was her own decision, made due to personal circumstances.

“I am grateful to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for his trust and the opportunities he has provided. I count on his understanding and support for this decision. It is important for me to make such decisions on my own, especially since the main points of the plan I came here to implement have been fulfilled,” she said.

Stefanyishyna also said that she would soon comment separately and publicly on the issues that have been raised in the media recently.

On July 30, Stefanyishyna said that the president had not asked her to resign and wanted her to remain in office.
