Panic Broke Out At The "shahid" Manufacturing Plant In Alabuga

Satellites have detected large-scale construction.

Satellites have detected the construction of a large-scale security system around a factory producing attack drones in Alabuga Special Economic Zone (Republic of Tatarstan, Russia).

This is reports analyst Spencer Faragasso of the Institute for Science and International Security (Good ISIS).

It is noted that high-resolution images from Vantor and Airbus for July and August of this year show the emergence of dozens of large lattice towers around UAV production facilities and other sites involved in manufacturing.

The defensive system consists of two rings of towers, experts note.

The inner perimeter consists of lower structures directly surrounding the main production facilities. The outer perimeter consists of taller towers and covers a wider area.

Analysts suggest that the structure is designed to accommodate a metal mesh made of cables, which is intended to shield the facilities. This will make it more difficult to attack the production facilities with cruise missiles and strike drones.

Construction of the towers began around May 18 of this year, analysts say, citing satellite imagery. Experts note that by the end of July, Alabuga had made significant progress in building an outer security perimeter consisting of larger towers. It encompasses the Alabuga-Volokno production facilities.

The construction of new defensive structures is taking place at a time when Ukraine is increasingly attacking targets throughout Russia with drones and FP-5 cruise missiles, analysts note.

Alabuga is a special economic zone (SEZ) in Russia and the main production site for the “Geran” (a Russian copy of the “Shahed”) and “Gerbera” drones. It is located near the city of Elabuga and covers an area of about 4,000 hectares.
