The Ukrainian Armed Forces Caused Quite A Stir In Russia

An oil refinery, a drone base, and an airfield were targeted.
On the night of August 30, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out strikes against a number of key targets on Russian territory.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
One of the targets was the Kirishi Oil Refinery in Kirishi, Leningrad Oblast, Russian Federation. Following the strike, a fire broke out on the refinery’s premises.
The Kirish Oil Refinery, also known as “Kirishnefteorgsintez” (KINEF), is Russia’s second-largest oil refinery by capacity and the largest in the country’s Northwest. Its capacity is approximately 20 million metric tons of crude oil per year.
The facility produces motor and aviation fuel, diesel fuel, and other petroleum products. According to the General Staff, the refinery is involved in meeting the needs of Russian troops.
Another strike hit Millerovo in the Rostov Region. There, the Ukrainian military struck a facility used for storing, preparing, and launching strike drones. A fire was also reported at the facility.
In addition, the “Yeisk” military airfield in Yeisk, Krasnodar Krai, Russia, was struck. A fire broke out on the facility’s grounds following the attack.
The General Staff noted that the extent of the damage inflicted on the enemy is still being determined.
Zelenskyy confirmed the strikes
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a number of key targets on Russian territory last night.
“Our long-range strikes operate at various ranges and on different axes, but they are always justified and aimed at depriving Russia of the resources to wage its brutal war,” he stated.
Zelenskyy noted that overnight, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck storage, preparation, and launch sites for attack drones in the Oryol and Rostov regions of the Russian Federation.
A military airfield in Yeysk and a facility in the Black Sea were also struck. Separately, the president reported a strike on an oil refinery in the Leningrad region, which, he said, contributes millions of dollars to the Russian military budget every month.
Zelenskyy also recalled recent long-range strikes on targets in Bashkortostan and the Arkhangelsk region.
“Every day, Russia must feel that the war is returning to where it came from. And it is important that our long-range strikes be complemented by new sanctions from our partners targeting Russian military infrastructure,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
According to him, a significant portion of the weaponry used by Russia to attack Ukrainian cities relies on foreign components, chemicals, and machine tools.
“We are constantly providing our partners with details on Russian schemes to circumvent sanctions. I am grateful to everyone who is helping to shut them down,” Zelenskyy added.
