Former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that the party being formed on the basis of the “Development+” (Rozwój Plus) coalition will be established no later than October 15. The statement came after further indications that the politician had definitively broken with the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, according to Rzeczpospolita.

Morawiecki announced the coalition’s convention, scheduled for October 15—the anniversary of the 2023 parliamentary elections—as early as Sunday. “On that day, we will show that Poland is not doomed to chaos, mediocrity, and unfulfilled promises. We will show that there is a force with experience, courage, a program, and a willingness to once again take responsibility for the country,” he wrote on X.

Politicians affiliated with “Development+” have already formed a separate parliamentary caucus. With 40 members, the group will be the third-largest in the Sejm—after the “Civic Coalition” (156 members) and PiS (147 members).
