The U.S. Has Imposed New Sanctions Against The Russian Ministry Of Defense

The restrictions apply to military entities, two companies, and five Russian citizens.

The U.S. has imposed sanctions on several entities within the Russian Ministry of Defense, as well as two Russian companies and five Russian citizens. This stated in a State Department press release.

The document states that the sanctions target the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense, the 1061st Logistics Support Center of the Russian Armed Forces, the Directorate for Advanced Joint Research and Special Projects of the Russian Ministry of Defense, and the Russian Ground Forces. The sanctions also apply to any successors, subdivisions, or subsidiaries of these entities.

The U.S. has also imposed sanctions on two Russian companies—International Invest Company and Gedion Alpha Company. Restrictions have also been imposed on five Russian citizens: Alexandra Prikhodko, Andrey Gusev, Andrey Kosolapov, Vladislav Morozik, and Sergey Tsibarev.

The State Department noted that these individuals engaged in activities that justify the imposition of measures under the law on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction with respect to Iran, North Korea, and Syria.

The document states that these sanctions took effect on July 24, 2026, and will remain in effect for two years unless the State Department revokes or extends them. In addition, U.S. agencies are prohibited from purchasing goods from the entities listed in this document or from providing them with assistance.
