The U.S. Secretary of State hopes for a quick deal with Tehran.

The U.S. has made progress in negotiations with Iran on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, but a deal has not yet been reached. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, according to Reuters.

“Some progress has been made in these negotiations, but they are not yet complete. We hope that will happen very soon,” Rubio said.
Earlier, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that the U.S. could reach a deal with Iran to reopen the strait “today or tomorrow.” Following his remarks, the price of October futures for Brent crude futures fell below $80 per barrel.
