The exercises took place after Lukashenko ordered the development of a universal countermeasure against all types of UAVs.
Belarusian military personnel conducted a training exercise to intercept aerial targets using actual aircraft. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense on its Telegram channel.
“A training exercise was conducted with one of the units of the 56th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment to intercept aerial targets at various altitudes and speeds. Live aircraft were used to simulate a more challenging scenario,” the post states.
The ministry noted that all crews involved in the exercise detected and successfully engaged the test targets in a timely manner, confirming their high readiness to ensure the integrity of Belarus’s airspace.
Prior to this, Alexander Lukashenko stated that he was considering creating a universal system capable of effectively countering any drones.
