Drones Attacked The Wildberries Warehouse In Yekaterinburg

The city's airport has imposed restrictions on incoming and outgoing flights.

Drones attacked the Wildberries logistics complex in Yekaterinburg—a city located more than 1,700 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing ASTRA and monitoring channels.

According to eyewitnesses, fire trucks and police units are arriving at the scene. A fire is reported in the first section of the warehouse.

Even before the attack, Rosaviatsiya had imposed temporary restrictions on aircraft arrivals and departures at Koltsovo Airport in Yekaterinburg. Denis Pasler, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, declared a drone threat alert in the region.

Wildberries confirmed the attack, stating that an evacuation had allegedly been carried out at the facility in advance.

“Fire crews are on the scene at the company’s logistics facility in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Region; a fire broke out as a result of the attack. A preemptive evacuation was carried out at the facility. Receipt of current shipments is temporarily restricted; they have been redirected to other facilities,” the company stated.

The consequences of the strikes on Wildberries are already being felt at various levels of the Russian economy. According to estimates, the company’s recovery could cost Russia a quarter of its annual budget deficit—due to the exodus of sellers, the marketplace’s turnover has already shrunk by a quarter.

According to Forbes, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have already destroyed at least 17% of Wildberries’ warehouse facilities; over the past two weeks, Ukrainian forces have been attacking the company’s facilities almost daily.
