Z-bloggers Accused Vučić Of Betraying Russia

Serbia has sided with Ukraine.

Russian Z-bloggers continue to express outrage over Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to Serbia. Reports that Belgrade, in cooperation with Israel, intends to establish drone production—Russians are convinced that these drones will ultimately end up in the hands of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, writes “Dialog”.

Z-blogger Sergey Koliasnikov (Zergulio) reacted to the news about Zelenskyy’s visit and Ukrainian-Serbian cooperation with a scathing post. He was outraged that a country which Russian propaganda had for years portrayed as “brotherly” and close to Moscow is now hosting the Ukrainian president and discussing aid to Ukraine. “The quintessence of the ‘brotherhood’ ideology. For decades, they’ve simply been taking advantage of us, and now they want to kill us with our own money,” Koliasnikov wrote.

The reason for Zelenskyy’s visit to Belgrade was the Ukrainian president’s first trip to Serbia since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. Following his meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Džuro Matsut, Zelenskyy announced that Serbia will allocate 2 million euros to Ukraine to support the energy sector in preparation for winter. “We also discussed Serbia’s participation in Ukraine’s reconstruction; I am grateful for Serbia’s willingness to join in the reconstruction of one of our affected cities,” Zelenskyy said.

A statement by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić was particularly sensitive for Moscow. At a joint press conference with Zelenskyy, he expressed support for Ukraine’s path toward European Union membership and urged Kyiv to open and conclude all negotiation clusters as quickly as possible.
