The Polish Foreign Ministry Responded To Zakharova's Hysteria

Warsaw called for "a focus on the facts."

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised the Russian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson not to accuse Warsaw, but to “look to Moscow” following its indignant reaction to remarks by President Karol Nawrocki that it is in Poland’s strategic interests “to help wherever a Muscovite is being beaten”.

The response from the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was published by the spokesperson for the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maciej Wewiór.

“Maria Zakharova is once again threatening Poland. As always, let’s look at the facts,” he said.

The spokesperson noted that, despite the Russian Federation’s impressive geographical size, population, and resources, Poland has twice the GDP, twice as many roads, and a homicide rate 10 times lower, and it provides decent social support to families, whereas in Russia, social support has been reduced to ‘military and funeral benefits.’

“The spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry says that ‘we once had a framework of mutually beneficial cooperation, of which nothing remains because of people like Navrotsky and Radosław Sikorski.’ But she forgets that it is Russia that threatens its neighbors and attacks them—either with military force or through hybrid methods,” said Maciej Wewur.

“Everyone would like to have a neighbor with whom they can trade, disagree on some things, and argue—but not an aggressor against whom they are forced to prepare to fight back. “Instead of looking for culprits in Warsaw again, look at Moscow, Ms. Zakharova,” he wrote.
