A Russian Man Opened Fire On People At A Shooting Club In Montenegro

In Montenegro, a 30-year-old Russian man shot and killed three people at a shooting club near Danilovgrad and fled. A manhunt has been launched for him.

The killer is currently hiding in the municipality of Herceg Novi; the area where he is located has been surrounded by police and special forces. This was reported by the publication N1.

What is known

On August 31, at around 4:00 p.m. local time, a shooting occurred at the Češka zbrojevka shooting club near the town of Danilovgrad. A Russian citizen, Mikhail Shabunin, shot and killed three employees of the club: 24-year-old Petar Globaravić and 20-year-old Nemanja Kapor from Podgorica, as well as 67-year-old Momir Radonić from Danilovgrad.

After the triple murder, the 30-year-old Russian fled the scene of the crime.

According to police, Shabunin initially traveled in a black Seat Cordoba. The car was later found abandoned in the village of Rogani. Law enforcement officials determined that the Russian man then continued his journey by taxi.

The area where, according to police, the Russian man is currently located has been cordoned off.

“The suspect is currently in the municipality of Herceg Novi, which is why reinforced police forces have been deployed in the area, including officers from the ‘South’ Regional Security Center, a Special Police Unit supported by a Montenegrin Army helicopter—which is being used to deploy members of the Special Police Unit—as well as modern technical equipment and other resources,” the Montenegrin police reported.

Law enforcement officials urged residents of Herceg Novi to remain vigilant and immediately provide the police with any information that could assist in the search for the suspect.
