On the night of September 1, the Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked strategic targets in Russia’s Leningrad Oblast, resulting in damage in the Ust-Luga port area. This was reported by Dialog.UA after monitoring social media.

The threat posed by UAVs in the airspace of the Leningrad Region was announced on September 1 at approximately 2:03 a.m. Temporary flight restrictions were imposed at Pulkovo Airport. Local residents were warned about a possible slowdown in mobile internet speeds.

The video was published by the Telegram channel Exilenova+.

The governor of the Leningrad Region Alexander Drozdenco acknowledged that on the night of September 1, Ukrainian drones attacked strategic targets in the region, including the port of Ust-Luga.

He claims that Russian air defense forces allegedly shot down 44 Ukrainian UAVs over the territory of the Leningrad Region. According to him, the drone attack caused damage in the Ust-Luga port area, and a fire was reported. Emergency services are on the scene.

The seaport of Ust-Luga is a key transportation hub for the export of petroleum products, coal, fertilizers, containers, and other cargo from Russia abroad via the Baltic Sea. Moscow spends the money received from the sale of these energy resources and goods to continue the war against Ukraine, which is why the port of Ust-Luga is a legitimate target for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Ukrainian drones have previously struck this strategic facility several times.
