Vaccination of wild carnivores began in the Minsk Region on September 1, according to the regional executive committee.

“Oral immunization of wild carnivores using rabies-vaccine-containing baits will be carried out by aircraft,” the regional executive committee reported.

The baits look like gray to dark brown briquettes weighing 25 g. They are made from feed ingredients that are edible to carnivores (beef fat, fish meal) and have a distinctive odor. The baits contain capsules with the vaccine.

“Do not handle the baits with your hands or feed them to pets. Children must not come into contact with the baits. If the vaccine (the contents of the capsule) accidentally comes into contact with the eyes, mouth, or nose, or with broken skin, seek medical attention immediately,” the regional executive committee noted.
