Belarusians Have Been Promised A Warm September

Weather forecaster Dmitry Ryabov appeared on ONT TV to discuss what the weather will be like in Belarus in September 2026.

According to the expert, this coming September will be warmer than usual—temperatures are expected to be a degree or two above the long-term average: “Normal temperatures range from +11 in the northeast to +13 in the southwest. Compared to August, it will be about 5 degrees cooler.”

At the same time, the transition to fall, according to the meteorologist, will be fairly gradual—meteorological summer will last another one and a half to two weeks into September. This refers to the period when the average daily temperature remains at +15 degrees or higher.

“It is precisely at this time that the early ‘Indian summer’ sets in,” the TV meteorologist noted.

As for precipitation, it is expected to be within the normal range—11 to 15 rainy days—with almost no thunderstorms forecast: only a couple of days this month will pose such a risk. In the northeast of the country, the number of rainy days may be higher—up to 17.

The average duration of sunshine during the month will range from 140 to 180 hours, Ryabov added. Daylight hours will also decrease by two hours in September—from 13 to 11.

Speaking about the end of the month, the meteorologist warned: “By this time, the first frosts may appear in the northern and northeastern regions. So it’s time to start pulling out your fall clothes. The morning and evening chill will become increasingly noticeable.”
