To achieve this goal, China intends to strengthen coordination with other countries.
Chinese President Xi Jinping pledged to strengthen coordination on Ukraine to achieve a “political resolution to the crisis.” He made this statement during a speech at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, according to CCTV.
Xi emphasized that while the number of uncertain and unpredictable factors in the international landscape is currently on the rise, “the aspiration of peoples around the world for peace, development, cooperation, and mutually beneficial collaboration remains unchanged.”
He added that China intends to strengthen coordination with other countries to seek political solutions to the situations in Ukraine, the Middle East, and Afghanistan.
“Regarding international and regional hotspots such as Ukraine, the Middle East, and Afghanistan, China is ready to strengthen communication and coordination with all parties, adhering to an approach aimed at addressing both the symptoms and the root causes of the problem, and to promote a political settlement,” he said.
Earlier, Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Putin and Xi barely discussed Russia’s aggression against Ukraine during their meeting; the conversation focused solely on bilateral relations.
