Why Is It So Important For Your Health To Eat Breakfast?

The first meal of the day is the most important.

Breakfast plays a key role in our diet, affecting our health, weight, and overall well-being. Although it isn’t strictly necessary, eating breakfast regularly is especially beneficial for people who are overweight.

Nutritionist and trainer Yuri Popko answers this question, writes “Cursor”.

In the morning, cortisol levels peak, and skipping breakfast can cause them to remain high, which contributes to the accumulation of visceral fat and increased health risks.

Breakfast Recommendations:

Meal Timing: It is recommended to eat breakfast within an hour or two after waking up or finishing your morning workout.

Breakfast composition: It’s important to avoid random snacking and instead prepare a balanced meal that includes protein, fats, and carbohydrates. This will provide your body with energy and help prevent overeating throughout the day.

Consequences of Skipping Breakfast:

Risk of Overeating: Skipping breakfast can lead to increased hunger, which raises the likelihood of overeating in the evening.

Sleep quality: Late meals caused by skipping breakfast can lead to a feeling of heaviness and disrupt natural circadian rhythms, which negatively affects sleep quality.

Digestive Efficiency: The digestive system functions most efficiently in the morning, so breakfast promotes better nutrient absorption.

Recommendations for Planning Breakfast:

Avoid fatty and sugary foods: These foods provide only temporary satiety and can lead to sharp spikes in blood sugar levels.

A balanced diet: Choose foods with an optimal balance of protein, fat, and carbohydrates. For example, oatmeal—which takes time to cook—paired with eggs and vegetables will provide the necessary balance of nutrients.

Time of the last meal: Try not to eat dinner too late so that you feel slightly hungry in the morning and don’t skip breakfast.
